Supplier Selection and Management

Choosing the right vendor should be one of the most important processes for any organization, and it shouldn't always be "price first" when it come time to selecting one. Developing a reliable stable of trusted vendors will pay dividends now and well into the future.

RTPS takes into account many factors when vetting a potential preferred vendor. First, and most important, we take a very close look at the overall quality of their product offering and the pricing that goes with it, as well as their customer support offering - a standard for any procurment initiative. What RTPS also give strong consideration to is the less apparent quailities an organization possesses - ties to their community, past relationships with our clients and their reputation within the industry. If all these boxes get checked for us, this completes the picture of what a solid and reliable vendor should be.

Going to Market - support with the RFx process

Going to market is a key part of the selection process and ensures compliance, transparency and fairness in your selection process. There are many different approaches to take, but the three most common are:

  • Request for Information (RFI) - used to get a feel of the market...who's out there and what they have to offer
  • Request For Quotation (RFQ) - who's offering the best pricing
  • Request for Proposal (RFP) - proposed offerings from potential providers where the solution involves more than just a quoted price (ie. auditing services, construction management).

Our 20+ years of authoring, managing, analysing and awarding contracts via the RFx process ensures the process is done right, efficiently and successfully.

Contract Lifecycle Management

Contract Lifecycle Mangement

This is the "Management" part of Supplier Selection, and where the realtionships begin to grow. We handle the workflow, to ensure the agreed upon pricing and terms are reflected in a simple but iron-clad, RTPS- authored contract. We strip out the excess small print that seems to find its way into certain "supplier-authored" contracts, get the contract signed and into our database. Moving forward and through the lifetime of the contract, we can remind you of anniversary dates, create custom reports based on your needs, and assist you with extensions, early cancellations and pending terminations.
